The utility school in Maastricht is an international, multicultural school on the ‘Groene Loper’ in Maastricht.

The extension of the utility school in Maastricht is an addition to a young monument by architect Boosten. Based on his architecture, studies have sought to connect with the existing building: the iconic concrete frames with frame infills have been continued in the extension in a contemporary way.

As a result, the size and scale of the expansion is in balance with the existing one, which received a lot of praise from the aesthetics committee.

Since the children’s independence is strongly encouraged at this school, the organization of the school has sought to match this educational vision: each group room can have an adjacent group room ‘quietly located’.
