In the heart of the neighbourhood, the existing Juliana van Stolberg primary school will be replaced by a community school including a gym.

The development of the new plan embraces the current urban planning grid, the size and scale of this district. The new building consists of a single-storey multifunctional area at the front of the site and a two-layer small-scale school villa in which the educational units with classrooms are planned.

The shape of the gym is almost identical to the shape of the teaching units. The flow of students through the units continues through a separate outdoor staircase and connects directly to the outdoor play areas.

For the time being and in the future maximum adaptability and flexibility within the building has been achieved for the users. Among other things, light partition walls; movable walls; multi-purpose space for education and sports; Lounge zone team for reception, presentations and individual education; linkable teaching areas; multifunctional play areas for school, childcare, after-school care, and pre-school, easily expandable; easy to compartmentalize. This course of action has been made to achieve the desired flexibility. Furthermore, the building has been realized with free/low maintenance materials, high-quality, with a long lifespan.

The procedure to achieve the desired sustainability includes: Increased insulation value of floor, walls and roof; Triple glazing; Materialization in accordance with NIBE classification; concrete with a gravel substitute; sedum roofs; Solar collectors / PV cells; heat recovery air exchange; LED lighting 48-volt system (daylight controlled); QV10: Making the building airtight; sun-controlled blinds; etc…
