In 2015 the decision was made to upgrade the existing sports complex “In de Bandert” in Echt to the requirements and wishes of our time. This resulted in the demolition and reconstruction of the swimming pool, central facilities, and the renovation of the sports hall. In addition to the Olympic sized pool, a main pool and the three-level sports hall, the accommodation has a sports lounge, a large reception hall with reception, meeting rooms, slide, spray park, whirlpool, multifunctional office spaces and day care facilities for the elderly.
After the rebuilding, the complex will have the newest Olympic pool in the Midden Limburg region. The modern Olympic pool of 25 x 12.5 meters has five lanes, a water temperature of 29°C, a state-of-the-art drowning detection system and a visitor’s stand for approximately 200 people.
Swimming pool In de Bandert also has a therapeutic target group pool with a fully movable floor of 15 x 10 meters and a constant water temperature of 31.5°C. Due to the movable floor, the main pool is suitable for many activities for all ages. The main pool is ideal for visitors with chronic movement disorders.
From the sports lounge you have a view of the indoor pool and the square at the front. The sports café also has a meeting room for approximately 40 people and can be combined with the sports lounge if required by opening a panel wall.
Swimming pool In de Bandert is accessible for everyone and has, in addition to 500 m² of swimming pools, modern facilities such as individual and group changing rooms, locker rooms and a drowning detection system.
For visitors with a disability or handicap there are spacious changing rooms, wheelchair accessible toilets and showers, a pool lift for the target group and Olympic pool and a wheelchair lift to the grandstand of the Olympic pool.
The daytime activity space looks out onto the square at the front and has its own outdoor space, is suitable for various groups.
